Autumn

The three months of autumn is the time of calmness. Everything in the natural world is ripening after the summer growth, rich and calm. The wind in autumn blows fast and the dew brightens up the ground. People may wish to go to sleep earlier in the night and get up early in the morning, just like the hens and roosters.
Be optimistic and calm, collect the will and maintain inner peace, this way we can alleviate the melancholy and harmfulness from the harsh energy in autumn.
In autumn, if we fail to follow the harvest or collect regimen, it will cause damage to the lung, leading to diarrhea and preventing a well restoring winter.

Winter

The three months of winter is the season for hibernation and preservation. People should sleep early in the night and get up after the sun rise. Reduce physical activities. Keep private affairs inside, Be quiet and pleased as if having obtained what one has desired. Take care of yourself, reward yourself with the physical and mental harvest of the year.
Do not to disturb Yang energy. Stay warm, avoid sweating to a great amount so as to prevent loss of Yang Chi. This is what adaptation to Winter energy – to hide and conserve. Any violation will impair Shenqi (Kidney-Chi) and reduce the energy for the following season, leading to Weijue (dysfunction,weakness and coldness of the limbs) in spring due to insufficient supply of “water” in spring.
